ACPRO launches new website

April 30, 2020

The Association of Canadian Psychology Regulatory Organizations (ACPRO) has, with support from funding partner Employment and Social Development Canada, launched a revised and updated website that provides improved access to information about the Association and regulation of the practice of psychology in Canada.

The new website also provides information and a point of entry for internationally-educated psychologists trained outside of Canada and the United States who are applying to register in provincial jurisdictions participating in the ACPRO collaborative effort to streamline and make more consistent the application process for internationally-educated psychologists.

ACPRO is partnering with ICD, a division of CGFNS, to develop an online application resource and process for internationally-educated psychologists. ICD is the world’s largest credentials evaluation organization for nursing and allied health professions. More information about this element of the project will be available in the coming weeks. ACPRO anticipates the new application resource and process for internationally-educated psychologists to be operational in the summer of 2020.

Established in 1989, ACPRO is a national organization of provincial and territorial regulators of the practice of psychology in Canada. ACPRO members share expertise and support a common commitment to the public interest in competent, ethical, and safe practice of psychology, and in recent years have focused their attention on shared interest in standards for entry-to-practice and inter-jurisdictional practice.

This project is funded by Employment and Social Development Program Canada.
